Over 18,000 of you voted for
the first ever GO Belfast Awards in 2007, placing your favourite places
in Belfast at the top of their class and into our GONGS hall of fame.
Here's
what the winners of last year's awards had to say…
Independent Retailer of the Year - Liberty Blue
"We are extremely
honoured to have won the title of 'Independent Retailer of the
year.' It is a great achievement for us to have been recognised
for our contribution to retail in Belfast. We would like to
express our gratitude to all those involved in providing us
with this wonderful opportunity, those who took the time to

Pub of the Year - The Botanic Inn
"We are so proud to be named Pub of the Year! It means a lot
to us to be given this award, which has been voted for by the

Café of the Year - Clements
"We are absolutely delighted to be named Café of the year. We

Beauty Salon/Spa of the Year - Partners
"The management and staff at Partners have worked so hard to
build the brand and to make people realise that the east of
the city has a lot to offer. We are absolutely thrilled to pick
up the Beauty Salon/Spa of the Year award - it will be taking

Visitor Attraction of the Year - Belfast Zoo
"I'm delighted that the zoo has been chosen by GO Belfast readers
as the most popular visitor attraction in the city. I believe

Newcomer of the Year - The Merchant Hotel
It's great to be recognised by the people of Belfast for the

We are so thrilled that Tennent's Vital has been crowned as
Belfast's Festival/Event of the Year. The event has gone from
strength each and every year, but this award is proof that in
2007 it really came of age - thanks to everyone who voted for
us. From one event organiser to another, we'd also like to thank
everyone on the GO Belfast team, the awards have been fantastic,"
